Compost can be viably used as fertiliser and soil conditioner in many sectors.
The compost can be used in pre-planting operations of trees and shrubs. It can also be buried at a later stage through a surface mechanical manufacturing to the depth of 20 cm.
It may represent an excellent means for performing background organic fertilisations before carrying out seeding or replanting operations in gardens and flowerbeds; then, the material must be buried through digging or hoeing operations in the first 10-20 cm of soil.
It may be used for the background fertilisation of soils intended for hosting horticultural crops, if distributed before seeding or replanting and subsequently buried in the first surface layers.
BIOFACTORY compost may be used also for grass replanting operations, if mixed with sand or soil (mixture with 30-40% of compost).
BIOFACTORY quality compost is registered in the “Register of the Fertilisers for organic agriculture”
The compost can be used in specialised fruit farming: it is possible to pre-implant it, by burying it through mechanical operations like tilling or traditional ploughing or to spread it on the soil in autumn or early spring, on the line or on the row, proceeding with an under-surface operation (<10 cm). The product also shows a partial mulch action if it is not buried.
Recommended dose:
pre-planting: 30-40 t/ha
in covering: 40-50 t/ha
The compost may be used in both specialised horticulture (greenhouse) and domestic horticulture.
Because of the protected crop intensity, soils tend to impoverish and require high quantity of organic matter (4-5 fertilising operations in one growing season). The product is spread in tunnel during the first full year before seeding or replanting. After the distribution, we recommend to intervene with ploughing or tillage operations at least 20-30 cm deep, in order to bury the compost and mix it with the ground.
Recommended dose: 20-40 t/ha
In domestic horticulture it can be used for basal dressing. It must be buried through digging operations (10-15 cm) in autumn or in early spring, before seeding or replanting.
Recommended dose: 2-3 kg/mc
The use of the compost improves the production of herbaceous crops, such as cereals, fodder crops, industrial crops. It can be reasonably distributed during pre-ploughing. Doses vary depending on the single crops removals and on the soil endowment. After the distribution, we recommend to intervene with ploughing or tillage operations at least 20-30 cm deep, in order to bury the compost and mix it with the ground.
Recommended dose: 20 a 50 t/ha
In the production of trees and shrubs, the compost is used for pre-planting fertilising. The product must be buried (~ 20 cm) through surface mechanical manufacturing after its distribution
Recommended dose: 30/40 t/ha
To create gardens and flowerbeds, it is necessary to carry out a basal dressing of the soil before seeding or replanting; after its distribution, the compost must be buried at a depth of 10-20 cm through digging or hoeing operations.
Recommended dose:10-15 kg/mc
To create lawns, it is necessary to proceed with pre-seeding fertilising.
Recommended dose: homogeneous thin layer of 0.5 cm, mixing the compost with sand and the land (about 30-40 % of Compost).
Areas subject to inert material extraction, after their requirements, present themselves as sterile substrates. They are often excessively verticalised and, therefore, they are no longer suitable for the occupation of plant species.
This fact generally involves a serious impact on the landscape and it also contributes to the reduction of the retention capacity of weather water outflows.
In the last few years, the compost has been used to restore the environment of disused quarries, with the aim of a more sustainable management of extractive activities. This allows an improvement of soil conditions at the sites concerned, as well as an improvement of the conditions for taking roots and for the development of plant species.
It is possible to spread a uniform layer of compost on the interested surface, in order to keep weeds under control and to maintain the proper dose of soil humidity, in addition to the organic matter supply.
Recommended dose: 5-10 cm layer to be recovered every 2-3 months
The compost can be mixed with many matrices, such as peat, inert substances (pumice, perlite, sand…) or fertilisers (water soluble, slow release, programmed release…), in order to create professional crop substrates for nursery gardening, hobby, amateur consumption and great distribution.
The compost is used in bio-remediation activities for the remediation of contaminated soil.
DISTRIBUTION
BIOFACTORY compost is a mature product that does not require any stocking at the company; its uniformity and its low moisture content make it a product easy to handle and to spread. The compost can be easily spread using traditional manure spreaders and adopting simple measures to take into account the lowest moisture content and the finer size, if necessary.
